Vern Montross Bio: 

Mr. Montross joined City National Rochdale in 2013 and has 20 years of experience in the financial services industry. Based in Texas, he is responsible for cultivating relationships with financial professionals and their clients.

Mr. Montross was previously employed with AllianceBernstein as an Investment Advisor in their Private Client Wealth Management practice and Nonprofit Advisory practice. He was responsible for advising high-net-worth families, endowments, foundations, and corporate executives on comprehensive investment strategies, including strategic asset allocation, risk management, tax-efficient wealth transfer strategies, and the implementation of alternative investments. In addition, he served on the AB National Advisory Council.

Mr. Montross earned his M.S. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from the University of Texas Health Science Center and his B.S. in Biomedical Science from Texas A&M University in College Station. He is fluent in Spanish. He also holds the Chartered Financial Analyst® (CFA) designation and is a member of the CFA Institute and CFA Society of Houston. Vern earned the CPWA® designation in 2021, which focuses on advising families with greater than $5 million in assets.

Mr. Montross enjoys traveling with his children, Ana and Parker, and his wife, Sarah. He is also an avid powerlifter and a fan of Texas A&M football.
