David Hanson, CFP® AIF® ChFC®
David Hanson served in the United States Navy before being Honorably discharged in 1977. He is a graduate of the University of Texas where he participated Silver Spurs organizations. David earned his Certified Financial Planner designation from the College of Financial Planning in 1988. He was voted one of the Outstanding Young Men in America in 1988, in addition, to being named to “Who’s Who in Finance and Industry” for 1996-97. He has been quoted in the Houston Chronicle, Chicago Tribune, San Francisco Examiner, Wall Street Journal the Medical Economics professional journals.
David has provided seminars to companies such as Exxon, Champion International and Baylor College of Medicine. He has been featured for special segments at KHOU-TX, Channel 11, dealing with the stock market. Previously, David has testified before the Texas Securities Board and has served as the Chairman, President for the Houston Chapter of the Institute for Certified Financial Planners. In the 2005 Edition, David was selected by Consumers’ Research Council of America as one of the best Financial Planners in America.
January 2009, David became one of 10 members of the prestigious Advisory Council for Securities America, Inc. being selected from the top 350 advisors. He was also a founder of the Retirement Plan Advisory Board at Securities America.
David served as Chairman of the Advisory Board for the Greater Houston Partnership’s Business Leadership Council. He also serves as Vice Chairman of the Goodwill Houston Board of Trustees. He and his wife Valerie, have two sons, Blake and Trevor. David is a lifetime member of the Houston Livestock and Rodeo and is actively involved with the International & Wine Committees
